Online Registration
You can enrol online from 5 to 12 May 2008 by going to www.britishcouncil.org.hk/summer-register, selecting an available course and filling in all the required information. When we receive your booking and payment, we will send you a confirmation e-mail. If your child is a new student, please send us a copy of his/her student identity card or proof of his/her class at school, by fax to 2913 5559. Please download the Student Information Booklet after course registration.

Note: Speaking Club and Young Writers' Group are not open for online registration.

By post
You can also register by post from 5 May 2008 onwards. Please download and fill in the registration form PDF send it back to our Customer Services Centre with a cheque made payable to 'British Council' and a copy of your child's student identity card or proof of the class they are in at school. We will process your application and send you a receipt and confirmation within 10 working days.

In person
Please visit the Customer Services Centre at our Admiralty centre to enrol on a course. Please remember to bring your child's student identity card or proof of his/her class at school for enrolment.

New Secondary students who want to register for Young Writers' Group or Speaking Club need to take a placement test. You need to make an appointment for the placement test by contacting our Customer Services team on 2913 5100 or e-mail enquiries@britishcouncil.org.hk with the subject heading 'Placement Test' or by fax on 2913 5102. The placement test fee (non-refundable) is HK$65.

We place students in classes according to the year they are about to enter at school in September 2008. Please note that we do not enrol students in classes which are above their school level.

Kindergarten 2-3 courses from 13 May 2008
Primary 1-4 courses from 14 May 2008
Primary 5-6 courses from 15 May 2008
Form 1-7 courses from 16 May 2008

*Due to the high demand for some courses, places are allocated on "first-come-first-served" basis and we may not be able to accommodate all applications.

Payment Method

  • Payment for courses can be made by VISA, Master Card, American Express, Diners Club Card, EPS or by cheque. Please make cheques payable to 'British Council'. Please note that we do not accept cash
  • A 10% discount will be offered to students who enrol on both July and August programme in one registration.
  • A free British Council bag will be offered to Kindergarten and Primary 1 and 2 students enrolling in both the July and August programme in one registration.
Refunds
We regret that refunds are only possible if a course is cancelled. Otherwise, fees paid are neither refundable nor transferable in current or subsequent terms. While we make every effort to run courses as advertised, we reserve the right to change the time, place, course contents and teacher.
Liability
The British Council shall not be liable to any party in respect of the following:
  • for any loss or damage to your property or any property in your possession in the course of engaging with the British Council or participating in courses as arranged by the British Council.
  • for death, or any injury or incapacity (except as may be required by law)
Typhoons and Rainstorms
We regret that we are unable to offer refunds for classes that are cancelled due to typhoons or rainstorms.
