Submission:
Choose any film that is shown at the UK Film Festival 2007 and write a short review of no more than 500 words in English.
Send it to us via email (ukff07@britishcouncil.org.hk) no later than 30 October 2007. Kindly provide us with your contact details, including name, address, email address and telephone number on the entry form. We ask for your understanding that only complete forms can be considered.
Adjudicating Panel:
The adjudicating panel will consist of teachers from the British Council. Reviews will be judged by their originality, criticality, clarity and language.
Results:
Results will be announced on the British Council’s website on 30 November 2007 and the winner will be notified separately by phone and email. The winner shall collect his/her prize from British Council’s office in person within 2 weeks after the announcement.
- The review must be written in English. Reviews written in other languages do not qualify for the competition.
- Each review should be about ONE film only, and the film must be one of the 14 films shown at the UK Film Festival 2007.
- Late submissions will be disqualified, and submission time will be based on email receipt time of our email server in Hong Kong.
- Participants must be Hong Kong residents of age 16 and above by midnight, 30 October 2007.
- Entries shall be the unaided original work by the participant and have not been published in any printed or online formats before.
- Entries will not be returned. Please make a copy, if necessary before submission.
- British Council staff and their relatives are not eligible for the competition.
- The organiser reserves the right to disqualify entries and reclaim the prize awarded should the review be found to be plagiarised.
- The decision of the British Council will be final.
- Participants accept that copyright of their submitted reviews belongs to the British Council, who may release or publish the essay in online or offline media designated by the Council.
- British Council reserves the right to change the terms and conditions without prior notice.
- Oasis tickets have to be booked within 3 month. Travel period will be valid for one year, with blackout periods in peak travel times.
- BritRail Passes are valid for 4 consecutive days. Validation starts with the first day of rail travel.
- Great British Heritage Passes are valid for 4 consecutive days from the first property that you visit.
- Winner will receive full terms and conditions of Oasis, BritRail Passes and Great British Heritage Passes.
- All personal details and particulars submitted are for the British Council’s internal administration and circulation of communication purposes only. They will not be made available to any organisation other than the British Council and its partner for this promotion, VisitBritain.
